（《僧祇》云：「若與欲人、若隔障、若半覆露中間隔障，若半覆露申手不相及，若一切露地坐申手不相及。」又云：「若眾僧行作羯磨，坐則非法，乃至住、坐、臥互作亦爾。」）

(The Mahāsāṃghika-vinaya states: "If a person grants consent, if there is an intervening screen, if half-sheltered and half-exposed with an intervening barrier between them, if half-sheltered and half-exposed without being able to reach each other with an outstretched hand, if sitting entirely in the open without being able to reach each other with an outstretched hand." It also states: "If the saṃgha performs the karman standing while someone sits, it is non-Dharmic; and likewise for standing, sitting, or lying down performed inconsistently.")
