（戒師應略說發戒方便，如大僧受戒中所說，以得戒在大僧，理須知正法。羯磨云：）

(The preceptor should briefly explain the skillful means for generating the precepts, as explained in the upasampadā of the fully ordained monks. Because the attainment of the precepts occurs before the fully ordained monks, it is reasonable that the proper Dharma must be known. The karman formula says:)
