「不得覆藏他罪，乃至突吉羅、惡說。若比丘尼，知他比丘尼犯波羅夷罪，若不自舉，不白僧，若眾多人。後於異時，此比丘尼若罷道、若滅擯、若遮不共僧事、若入外道，後便作是說：『我先知有如是如是事。』彼非比丘尼，非釋種女，覆藏重罪故。汝是中盡形壽不得作，能持不？」

"You must not conceal another's transgression, even down to a duṣkṛta or harsh speech. If a bhikṣuṇī knows that another bhikṣuṇī has committed a pārājika transgression, and if she does not bring it up herself, does not inform the saṃgha, or does not inform a large group of people; and later, at another time, when this bhikṣuṇī has either disrobed, been expelled, been barred from shared saṃgha activities, or joined the non-Buddhists, she then makes this statement: 'I knew beforehand that such and such a matter occurred'—she is no longer a bhikṣuṇī, no longer a daughter of the Śākyan clan, on account of concealing a grave transgression. In this regard, you must not commit this for the rest of your life. Are you able to maintain it?"
