（《五分》云：「佛言：當於持律者安居。若處所迮鬧者，應七日得往返處，心念遙依。」若依檀越、村野、林樹、山巖、房舍等安居者，並同上文，唯改「伽藍」為異。若「修治破壞」之語，局僧住處，隨事量度。其四眾作法，唯改言「比丘尼」、「式叉摩那尼」、「沙彌」、「沙彌尼」為別，餘詞同上。）

(The Mahīśāsaka Vinaya states: "The Buddha said: You must observe the retreat in the presence of a vinaya master. If the place is cramped or noisy, then at a location where one can go and return within seven days, one may rely on him from afar through mental cetanā." If one observes the retreat relying upon a dānapati, a rural village, a forest grove, mountain caves, or rooms and dwellings, all follow the text above, changing only "monastery" to suit the difference. As for the words "to repair what is dilapidated and damaged," this is restricted to dwellings of the Saṃgha, measured according to circumstance. In the procedures for the other four classes of disciples, one simply changes the words to "bhikṣuṇī," "śikṣamāṇā," "śrāmaṇera," or "śrāmaṇerikā" as appropriate; the rest of the wording is the same as above.)
