(The Buddha said: "One should perform pravāraṇā on the fourteenth, fifteenth, or sixteenth day." The rest of the preparation of communal items is as described in the chapter on the Upoṣadha. When the bhikṣus did not know at what time, the Buddha said: "I permit doing so after the minor meal or the major meal." The senior monk should make the proclamation, saying:)
