（爾時，世尊三月靜坐，唯除一供養人。時有六十頭陀比丘往至佛所，為佛所讚，諸非頭陀比丘捨衣成大積。佛言：「應布施眾僧，若與一人，聽與比丘尼非衣。若行波利婆沙、摩那埵比丘，應與分。七羯磨人，應置地與，若使人與。若沙彌，應等與，若與半，若三分與一。守僧伽藍人，應等與，若乃至四分與一分。若不與，不應分。若分，應如法治。」）

(At that time, the World-Honoured One sat in silent meditation for three months, excepting only one attendant. At that time, sixty dhūta bhikṣus went to where the Buddha was and were praised by the Buddha; various non-dhūta bhikṣus renounced their robes, forming a great heap. The Buddha said: "They should be given as alms to the saṃgha. If given to a single person, it is permitted to give non-robe items to the bhikṣuṇīs. If there are bhikṣus undergoing parivāsa or mānatva, they should be given a share. Those undergoing the seven karmans should be given [their share] by placing it on the ground, or by sending someone to give it to them. To śrāmaṇeras, one should give an equal share, or half, or one out of three parts. To the person guarding the saṅghārāma, one should give an equal share, or even down to one out of four parts. If not given, they must not be distributed. If one distributes them [improperly], one should be dealt with according to the Dharma.")
