（佛言：「應問言：『誰負病者物？病人負誰物？』知已應索取。若負他者，聽持長衣償；若無，賣三衣償。有餘，與瞻病人。」《僧祇》云：「當深察前人可信可證，明者與之，反此不得。」）

(The Buddha said: "One should ask, saying: 'Who owes goods to the sick person? To whom does the sick person owe goods?' Having learned this, one should claim them. If he owes others, it is permitted to take extra robes to repay; if there are none, sell the three robes to repay. If there is a surplus, give it to the attendant of the sick." The Mahāsāṃghika-vinaya states: "One must deeply investigate whether the counterparty is trustworthy and verifiable; if clear, give it to him; if contrary to this, it is not permitted.")
