（爾時諸弟子不順弟子法，不承事和尚、阿闍梨，無慚無愧，不受教勅，作非威儀，行不恭敬、難與語。與惡人為友，好往婬女家、婦女家、大童女家、黃門家、比丘尼精舍、式叉摩那精舍、沙彌尼精舍，好往看龜鼈。佛言：「和尚阿闍梨應作呵嘖，有三種：一者喚弟子現前；二者出過令伏；三、量過設呵。」又自量喜怒，非分暢志，並反欺負。可詞五種。應言：）

(At that time, disciples were not following the rules for disciples, not serving their upādhyāyas and ācāryas, lacking shame and conscience, not receiving instructions, acting contrary to proper deportment, behaving without respect, and being difficult to speak to. Associating with evil people as friends, they were fond of going to the houses of courtesans, the houses of women, the houses of maidens, the houses of eunuchs, nunneries, residences of śikṣamāṇās, and residences of śrāmaṇerīs; and they were fond of going to watch turtles and tortoises. The Buddha said: "The upādhyāya and ācārya should perform a reprimand. There are three kinds: first, summoning the disciple to be present; second, bringing forth his fault and making him submit; third, measuring the fault and delivering the reprimand." Furthermore, considering whether oneself has anger or pleasure, without excessive venting of emotion, and not doing the reverse by acting unfairly. There are five permissible phrases. One should say:)
