「大德僧聽！我比丘某甲老病，不能無杖絡囊而行，今從僧乞畜杖絡囊，願聽我比丘某甲畜杖絡囊，慈愍故。」（如是三說。）

"May the venerable saṃgha listen! I, bhikṣu N.N., am aged and sick, and cannot walk without a staff and a net bag. Now I request from the saṃgha permission to keep a staff and a net bag. May the saṃgha grant me, bhikṣu N.N., permission to keep a staff and a net bag, out of compassion." (Spoken three times like this.)
