(The original Vinaya states: "If one makes an error or forgets in reciting, it should be prompted to him one by one." As for the two possessing the five virtues, according to the Mahāsāṃghika-vinaya: "Each goes to his own seat to perform pravāraṇā; they must not wait until the saṃgha has finished." When the saṃgha has finished pravāraṇā, the two possessing the five virtues go before the sthavira and announce: "The saṃgha has with single mind completed pravāraṇā," and then they withdraw with the customary prostrations.
