"May the venerable saṃgha listen! The saṃgha appoints bhikṣu so-and-so to instruct the bhikṣuṇīs. Whichever venerable ones consent to the saṃgha appointing bhikṣu so-and-so to instruct the bhikṣuṇīs, let them remain silent. Whoever does not consent, let him speak. The saṃgha has consented to appoint bhikṣu so-and-so to instruct the bhikṣuṇīs. Because the saṃgha consents and remains silent, so is this matter maintained." (He who has been appointed takes a bhikṣu as a companion and goes to the bhikṣuṇīs' dwelling place. He should arrive at the set time, and the bhikṣuṇīs must also receive him at the set time. If the bhikṣu does not arrive at the set time, it is a duṣkṛta; if the bhikṣuṇīs do not receive him at the set time, it is likewise. Then, the instructing master, having seen that the assembly has gathered, explains to them the eight strict rules and preaches the Dharma. The eight strict rules are: Even a bhikṣuṇī of a hundred years, seeing a newly ordained bhikṣu, should rise to receive him, bow in homage, spread a clean seat, and invite him to sit; such a rule should be respected, revered, and praised, and never exceeded for as long as life lasts. A bhikṣuṇī should not scold or reprimand a bhikṣu, nor slander him saying that he has broken the precepts, broken view, or broken deportment; such a rule should be respected, etc., as above. A bhikṣuṇī should not initiate accusations, cause reminders, or take personal statements against a bhikṣu; she should not obstruct him from investigating offenses, obstruct poṣadha, or obstruct pravāraṇā; a bhikṣuṇī should not reprimand a bhikṣu, but a bhikṣu may reprimand a bhikṣuṇī; such a rule should be respected, etc., as above. A śikṣamāṇā, having trained in the precepts, requests full upasampadā from the bhikṣu-saṃgha; such a rule should be respected, etc., as above. A bhikṣuṇī who commits a saṃghāvaśeṣa offense must undergo mānatva in both saṃghas; such a rule should be respected, etc., as above. A bhikṣuṇī half-monthly requests instruction from the saṃgha; such a rule should be respected, etc., as above. A bhikṣuṇī should not observe the summer rains retreat in a place where there are no bhikṣus; such a rule should be respected, etc., as above. When the bhikṣuṇī-saṃgha has completed the summer rains retreat, they must go to the bhikṣu-saṃgha to request three-point pravāraṇā: what has been seen, heard, and suspected; such a rule should be respected, etc., as above. Next, he preaches the Dharma to them, opening their understanding according to their capacity.)
