"If the two āyuṣmats permit me to receive the confession of bhikṣu so-and-so, I shall receive it." (The two bhikṣus should answer:) "Yes." (Only after obtaining permission does the master of confession answer the confessant:) "Yes." (The actual words of confession and so forth are the same as above.) Returning the robes. (The inquiry and concord are the same as above.) Not returning. (The assessment of offenses is the same as above. If the forfeiture and confession are done before two persons or one person, each is identical to this, with no difference, except that before one person, the inquiry to those beside him is omitted.)
