大德憶念！某處比丘尼僧和合，差我比丘尼某甲，禮比丘僧足，求索教誡。（三說。彼既囑已，明日往問可不。若聞眾僧已差教授師，此使比丘尼往問教授師去時。比丘應期往，比丘尼應迎。比丘期往；不往者，突吉羅。比丘尼期迎，不迎亦爾。若比丘尼聞教誡師來，當半由旬迎，在寺內供給所須：辦洗浴具、若羹粥種種餅食供養；若不者，突吉羅。若無教授人，上座有略教者，應頂受已，還本寺內，鳴椎集比丘尼眾，不來者囑授，告尼眾云：）大德僧眾無教誡比丘尼人，及無說法者。語比丘尼眾「勤修莫放逸！」（作此告時，尼眾皆合掌言：）頂戴持。（若二眾病、不和、不滿，當遣使問訊；若不往者，突吉羅。）

'May the Venerable One bear in mind! The harmonious bhikṣuṇī-saṃgha of such-and-such a place has dispatched me, the bhikṣuṇī so-and-so, to pay homage at the feet of the bhikṣu-saṃgha and request instruction.' (Say this three times. Having delivered the message, she should go the next day to ask whether it is accepted or not. If she hears that the saṃgha has already dispatched an instructor, this messenger bhikṣuṇī should go and ask the instructor when he will depart. The bhikṣu should go at the agreed time, and the bhikṣuṇīs should go out to welcome him. The bhikṣu should go at the agreed time; if he does not go, it is a duṣkṛta. The bhikṣuṇīs should welcome him at the agreed time; if they do not welcome him, it is likewise so. When the bhikṣuṇīs hear that the instructor is coming, they should go out half a yojana to welcome him, and provide what is needed inside the monastery: preparing bathing articles, or offering various soups, gruels, and cakes; if not, it is a duṣkṛta. If there is no instructor and the elder gives a brief instruction, she should receive it atop her head, return to her own monastery, strike the gaṇḍī to assemble the bhikṣuṇī assembly, entrust the message for those who do not come, and announce to the assembly of nuns, saying:) 'Among the saṃgha of venerable ones, there is no one to instruct the bhikṣuṇīs, nor anyone to preach the Dharma. They tell the assembly of bhikṣuṇīs: "Practice diligently, do not be negligent!"' (When this announcement is made, the assembly of nuns all join their palms and say:) 'We respectfully accept and uphold it.' (If either of the two assemblies is ill, in disharmony, or incomplete, a messenger should be sent to pay respects; if one does not go, it is a duṣkṛta.)
