3.18

大姊！汝莫趣以一小事瞋恚不喜，便作是語：「我捨佛、捨法、捨僧，不獨有此沙門釋子，更有餘沙門、婆羅門、修梵行者，我等亦可於彼修梵行。」汝捨此事，莫為僧所呵責，更犯重罪。（若隨語者善；若不隨語者，乃至第三，如上。白四法體，亦如律明。）

"Ayye! Do not, upon a single slight matter, become angry and displeased, and then say: 'I renounce the Buddha, renounce the Dharma, renounce the saṃgha! It is not that there are only these Śākyan recluses; there are other recluses, brahmins, and practitioners of the brahmacarya. We can also practice the brahmacarya among them.' Abandon this matter; do not be rebuked by the saṃgha and thereby commit further grave offences." (If she complies with the words, it is well; if she does not comply with the words, it is spoken up to three times as above. The substantial procedure of the jñapticaturtha-karman is also clarified as in the Vinaya.)
