“Suṇātu me ayye saṃgho! I, the non-Buddhist so-and-so, take refuge in the Buddha, take refuge in the Dharma, and take refuge in the Saṃgha. I seek to go forth into homelessness to practice the path with the World-Honoured One; the World-Honoured One is my Tathāgata, Arhat, Samyaksambuddha.” (To be said three times.)
