"Suṇātu me ayye saṃgho! If the time has arrived for the saṃgha, and the saṃgha approves, let this bowl be offered successively to inquire of the elders. This is the ñatti." (Having made this ñatti, one should carry it and present it to the elder; if the elder does not take it, give it to that bhikṣuṇī, and that bhikṣuṇī should take it. She should not refrain from taking it out of concern for the saṃgha; nor should she, by this reason, take and keep the most inferior bowl; if she takes it, it is a duṣkṛta. If the elder takes it, it should be given to the elder, and the elder's bowl taken and presented to the next seated; if the next seated takes it, it is just as with the elder. In this manner it is passed successively, down to the most junior seated.)
