"Suṇātu me ayye saṃgho! The saṃgha now gives this (either the bowl of the most junior seated, or the inferior bowl of that bhikṣuṇī) to bhikṣuṇī so-and-so to receive and keep until it breaks. Whichever ayye approves that the saṃgha gives the bowl to bhikṣuṇī so-and-so, let her remain silent; whosoever does not approve, let her speak. The saṃgha has approved giving the bowl to bhikṣuṇī so-and-so. The saṃgha approves, because it is silent; thus do we hold this matter." (That bhikṣuṇī must guard and protect this bowl: she must not place it where tiles or stones might fall; she must not place it under leaning walking-sticks, nor under leaning knives; she must not place it under hanging objects, nor on a path, on a stone, under fruit trees, or on uneven ground; she must not hold two bowls in one hand except by separating them with fingers in the middle; she must not hold two bowls in one hand to open a door except with mindful care; she must not place it inside a door threshold, nor under a door leaf; she must not place it under a rope bed or wooden bed, between beds, or at the corner of a bed, except temporarily; she must not rinse the bowl while standing, to the extent that it might cause the bowl to break; she should not intentionally damage it, nor intentionally cause it to be lost, nor use it for non-bowl purposes.)
