《梵網》大本一百一十二卷六十一品，唯第十菩薩心地品什師誦出上下兩卷，上序菩薩階位，下明菩薩戒法。從大本出，序及流通皆闕，即別部外稱菩薩戒經。就文為三：從初偈長行訖「清淨者」為序，次十重訖「現在菩薩今誦」為正說，餘盡卷為勸說流通也。

The large edition of the *Brahmajāla* consists of one hundred and twelve fascicles and sixty-one chapters. Only the tenth chapter, the Bodhisattva Cittabhūmi Chapter, was recited and translated by Master Kumārajīva into two fascicles, upper and lower: the upper fascicle prefaces the bodhisattva stages, while the lower clarifies the bodhisattva precept method. Because it was excerpted from the large edition, the preface and the transmission sections are both missing, so outside the complete work it is called the *Bodhisattva Precept Sūtra*. In terms of the text, it has three sections: from the initial verse and the prose up to 'those who are pure' is the preface; next, from the ten major precepts up to 'the present bodhisattvas now recite' is the main exposition; the remainder of the fascicle constitutes the exhortation and transmission.
