“Ten major [precepts]”: below this begins the second section, the main exposition. The text has two parts: first, it explains the ten major [precepts]; second, the forty-eight minor [precepts]. The first consists of three sections: first, a general introduction; second, an item-by-item explanation; third, a general conclusion.
