From “At that time, Śākyamuni” onward is the second section, which is the general transmission of the entire chapter. Where the one-fascicle precept text has omissions, it is simply that the transcription was incomplete. This also has four stages: first, concluding specifically the preaching of the Cittabhūmi Chapter; second, briefly summarizing the preaching in the ten locations; third, the dharma that was preached; fourth, the assembly's practice [of it]. The first stage has two divisions: first, explaining that this Śākyamuni has finished preaching; second, explaining that the other Śākyamunis have finished preaching. From “From Maheśvara [Palace]” onward is the second stage, summarizing that the preaching in the ten locations has concluded, which also has two [parts]: first, presenting the ten locations where this Śākyamuni preached, which appears in the upper fascicle; second, presenting what the other Śākyamunis preached, where at the end of the passage on the other Śākyamunis, “should also train in this way” is omitted. The third stage presents the dharma that was preached, comprising seven phrases in total, which also has two [parts]: the first six are specific, and the last one is general. From “In the hundred thousand myriad kotis of worlds” onward is the fourth, the assembly's practice [of it], which also has two [parts]: first, it explains that the sentient beings in the hundred thousand myriad kotis of worlds each preach and each practice [it]; it refers to the extensive explanation elsewhere, the “King Huāguāng Chapter”, which ought to be in the larger edition, as the editions differ. “Three thousand” refers to the three thousand deportments that a bodhisattva should learn. “Three years” refers to: for śrāvakas it is five years, for bodhisattvas three years. “Three matters” refers simply to precepts, concentration, and wisdom.
