Next, from "In this way..." onward, in the second part concluding the exhortation and referring to the wider context: the sounds of "brahmadanda" (fandan) and "fantai" are close; here it is translated as "silent expulsion." Because foul speech troubles the Saṃgha, this penalty is applied. In that chapter it explains this at length, hence it refers to it. Below, the fifth major section clarifies this meaning. Within "Therefore..." there are also two parts: first, the direct explanation; next, the concluding exhortation.
