第九、通局者，若慈心舉罪呵擯等，若因說彼惡行調伏等，若便王等力而方調伏等，應不犯。反此乃起一念嫌心欲說等，悉皆成犯。

Ninth, regarding exceptions and restrictions: If with a compassionate mind one brings up offenses to reprimand and banish them, or if by speaking of their evil deeds one tames them, or if relying on the power of kings and the like one then tames them, it should be no offense. Contrary to this, if one gives rise to a single thought of resentment and wishes to speak [of their offenses], all constitute offenses.
