5.117

六、輕重者，謂實無知，詐言能解，此犯初篇妄語罪也。今取乖失引導，令法犯不傳，故結此罪。於中有六：一、根有利鈍，二、學有懃情，三、覆有深淺，四、師有大小，五、四俱有輕重，六、相合互多小。並有輕重，准釋可知。

Sixth, regarding severity: truly lacking knowledge but falsely claiming to understand violates the offense of lying in the first category. Here, taking the failure to properly guide and causing the Dharma precepts not to be transmitted, this offense is adjudicated. Within this there are six aspects: 1. Faculties may be sharp or dull; 2. Study may be diligent or indolent; 3. Concealment may be deep or shallow; 4. Masters may be greater or lesser; 5. All four may be light or heavy; 6. Combinations of these may have more or fewer [aspects of lightness or heaviness]. All have degrees of severity, which can be understood by analogy with the explanation.
