七、通塞者，《重樓戒經》云：「若菩薩憍慢心故，不諮問師、不受師教，得罪。不犯者：若病、若狂、若癡、若大聰明、多聞有智、為調眾生、若入定時」也。

Seventh, regarding exceptions and restrictions: The *Zhonglou jie jing* says: 'If a bodhisattva, out of an arrogant mind, does not inquire of the teacher and does not receive the teacher's instruction, they incur an offense. As for non-offense: if one is ill, if insane, if deluded, if of great intelligence, widely learned and possessing wisdom, for the sake of taming sentient beings, or when entering samādhi.'
