Seventh, permissible and impermissible circumstances: If out of a good mind one teaches to make them broadly knowledgeable, without causing them to crave or attach to it, by principle it should not constitute an offense. Furthermore, if one wishes to break perverse and minor attachments by having them understand and know that tenet, in intent it also does not constitute an offense. Furthermore, if the other's faculties are a vessel for the Hīnayāna Dharma, and one first imparts the minor teachings with the intention of gradually guiding them later into the Mahāyāna, this also incurs no offense. Furthermore, if it is by mistake and so forth, none constitutes an offense at all, as in the Śīlapaṭala of the Yogācārabhūmi. Contrary to the above, all constitute an offense.
