五、闕緣者，闕初二緣各總無犯，闕後二緣各重方便，可知。

Fifth, lacking conditions: If either of the first two conditions is lacking, in each case there is entirely no offense. If either of the latter two conditions is lacking, in each case there is a grave preparatory offense, as can be known.
