6.67

初、制意者，菩薩見眾生在厄，理應殞命救濟，何容見自所尊三寶二親惡人所賣而不救贖，故須制也。別辨亦有違三聚義，可知。

First, the intention of the formulation: when a bodhisattva sees sentient beings in distress, in principle one ought to sacrifice one's life to save them; how can one bear to see the Triple Jewel and one's two parents, whom one respects, being sold by evil people and not ransom them? Therefore, it had to be formulated. Specifically distinguished, there is also the meaning of violating the three clusters of precepts, which can be understood.
