Sixth, degrees of gravity: In terms of the object, the other persons differ in being sharp or dull; that is, imparting perverse teachings to one of sharp faculties causes them to lose great benefit, or may lead them to slander the Mahāyāna, whereas with dull faculties it is contrary to the above; therefore there are lighter and graver [offenses]. In terms of the mind, there are various evils such as wrath and jealousy, and there are also distinctions of weak, middling, and intense. In terms of the matter, the harm and benefit vary in quantity; all have lighter and graver [aspects], which can be understood accordingly whether taken singly, doubly, or combined as one.
