2.29

若佛子！見一切疾病人，常應供養，如佛無異。八福田中，看病福田是第一福田。若父母、師僧、弟子病，諸根不具，百種病苦惱，皆供養令差。而菩薩以瞋恨心不看，乃至僧坊、城邑、曠野、山林、道路中，見病不救濟者，犯輕垢罪。

"If a disciple of the Buddha sees any sick person, they should always make offerings to them, no differently than to a Buddha. Among the eight fields of merit, the field of merit of tending to the sick is the foremost field of merit. If parents, masters, monks, or disciples are sick, having impaired sense faculties or afflicted by hundreds of kinds of illnesses, one must make offerings to them all to heal them. Yet if a bodhisattva, with a mind of hatred, does not care for them, or even, upon seeing the sick in monasteries, cities, wildernesses, mountain forests, or on roads, does not rescue and assist them, they commit a duṣkṛta offense."
