"If a disciple of the Buddha intentionally eats meat—one must not eat any meat. One who eats meat cuts off the seed of the Buddha-nature of great compassion, and all sentient beings will see and flee from them. Therefore, no bodhisattva should eat the meat of any sentient being. Eating meat incurs limitless offenses. If one intentionally eats it, one commits a duṣkṛta offense."
