"If a disciple of the Buddha, one must not keep any knives, staves, bows, arrows, spears, axes, or implements of warfare, nor any wicked nets, snares, or devices for killing living beings—none of these must be kept at all. A bodhisattva does not even take revenge if someone kills their parents, so how could they kill any sentient beings? If one intentionally keeps knives and staves, one commits a duṣkṛta offense."
