The commentary states: Third, in the Mind of Joy, "at the time of the mind of joy in the unarisen" introduces the chapter section. The mind of joy contemplating emptiness is called "the mind of the unarisen." "The wisdom of the path of the substance and marks of the gotra" refers to the substance and marks of the stage. Because self and other are empty, it is called "emptiness of emptiness." Still following along and rejoicing with others, it is called "the mind of joy." This has two kinds: first, emptiness of nature, because one does not cling to self and what belongs to self; second, emptiness of dharmas, because one understands that transmigration has no accumulation. "Arising and vanishing" means the sense of transmigration. What arises from conditions still belongs to multiple conditions and has no fixed mark; hence it says "no accumulation." At that time, all the myriad existents enter emptiness, which is the completion of the practice of contemplation. With the joy of identical substance, one equally rejoices in all. Giving rise to this contemplation of emptiness, one enters the path possessing marks, keeping far from the perverse and drawing near to the upright. "Upright" refers to showing me the good path and causing sentient beings to enter the house of the Buddha-Dharma. Having attained the Dharma within one's heart, the substance of practice is joyful and delighted; hence it says "always generating joy within the Dharma." One enters the stage of the Dharma oneself, and further rejoices in others entering the upright.
