1.64

述曰：第十、慧心中，「作慧見心」者，舉章門也。纏名為結，隨眠名患，眾苦本故。言「順忍」者，境順智故。「慧性起光光」者，運運照故。「一炎明明」者，一體多用故。「見虛無受」者，緣空不執故。總結云「其慧方便」者，慧行善巧故，能生此位十長養心也。是心入空理，起空道故，雜修智悲，堪發無生聖心之因也。

The commentary states: In the tenth [mind], the mind of wisdom, "producing the mind of wisdom-view" introduces the chapter heading. Entanglements are called fetters, and latencies are called afflictions, because they are the root of all suffering. "Adaptive forbearance" means the cognitive object accords with wisdom. "The nature of wisdom produces light after light" means it illuminates at each turn. "A single flame clearly illuminates" means a single substance has many functions. "Seeing emptiness without grasping" means cognizing emptiness without grasping. Concluding in general, it says "its wisdom and skillful means," which means because the practice of wisdom is skillful, it can generate the ten minds of nourishment of this rank. Because these minds enter the principle of emptiness and give rise to the path of emptiness, they multifariously cultivate wisdom and compassion, capable of serving as the cause for arousing the noble mind of non-arising.
