The commentary states: Here, what is difficult is used to illustrate what is easy, and may be understood from the text. Offering precious treasures according to one's individual capacity is the intent here. The ten kinds of Dharma practices—such as copying [scriptures]—taught in the Yogācārabhūmi, Madhyāntavibhāga, and elsewhere, should be fully completed here. This corresponds to the first minor precept on making offerings to the Three Jewels in the Yogācārabhūmi. The Upāsakaśīla-sūtra states: If one makes robes and bowls, one first offers them to the Buddha, one's parents, teachers, and elders; after they have used them once, one then wears them oneself. If one offers them to the Buddha, one should redeem them with incense and flowers.
