2.23

述曰：自下末主顯揚門。此有四門：一、展轉開化門，二、所成戒相門，三、能受有情門，四、開許廣說門。此即初也。謂上六頌本師誦出，如我傳誦汝亦應爾，戒手相接佛種即不斷也。

The Commentary says: Below is the gate of the final master's manifestation and propagation. This has four gates: first, the gate of reciprocal opening and transforming; second, the gate of the characteristics of the precepts thus accomplished; third, the gate of sentient beings capable of receiving them; and fourth, the gate of granting permission to expound them extensively. This is the first. It means that the above six verses were recited by the original teacher; as I transmit and recite them, you should do likewise; when hand passes to hand with the precepts, the Buddha seed will not be severed.
