第二、勸信。信為入法之本，戒為住法之原，所以說偈更令信戒。然菩薩戒略有三門：一、受得門，二、護持門，三、犯失門。

Second, encouraging faith. Faith is the root of entering the Dharma, and precepts are the source of abiding in the Dharma; therefore, he preaches verses to further cause them to have faith in the precepts. However, the bodhisattva precepts generally have three approaches: first, the approach of receiving and obtaining; second, the approach of guarding and upholding; third, the approach of committing [offenses] and losing [the precepts].
