禮有三種，謂下、中、上，今謂上品禮也。所敬既其尊極，能禮必須最上。
There are three kinds of salutation: lower, middle, and upper. Here it refers to the upper grade of salutation. Since the object of veneration is supremely ultimate, the salutation of the one capable of venerating must be the highest.
