牒章門中云隨順威儀住者，隨順過去佛威儀，如過去說法華時入定動地雨華，今亦如是。二者隨順眾生現在威儀故。後文云「為隨順眾生示現對治，攝取覺菩提分法故。」

In quoting the section heading, "abiding in the deportment in accordance with which" means being in accordance with the deportment of past Buddhas: just as in the past, when expounding the Lotus, they entered samādhi, the earth shook, and flowers rained down, now it is also like this. Second, it is because it accords with the present deportment of sentient beings. As the later text states: "In order to manifest remedies in accordance with sentient beings, subsuming the factors of awakening."
