These are the two. "Shaking the world" explains being based upon the receptacle world. Because when past Buddhas were about to expound the Lotus, the earth moved in six ways, now it is also like this. The reason it is based upon shaking the earth is that he expounds the Great Dharma, shatters great factions, brings great benefit, and causes sentient beings to have great joy. "Knowing the events of immeasurable kalpas in the past, and so forth" explains being based upon the world of sentient beings. When past Buddhas of immeasurable kalpas expounded the Lotus, repeatedly in full glory the heavens rained the four flowers and the great assembly rejoiced; now it is also like this: because he expounds the Dharma of the supreme principle, expresses the intention of the Buddhas, and fulfills the vows of sentient beings, repeatedly in full glory the heavens rain the four flowers and the great assembly rejoices. Question: The rejoicing of the great assembly may well be the world of sentient beings, but how is the heavens raining the four flowers the world of sentient beings? Answer: Devas belong to the category of sentient beings.
