1.217

雨華動地竝為外事。佛親自身放光，智炬將輝，故身光前耀，故名內事。內證甚深微密法者，依〈方便品〉釋則是無上菩提。今說佛所證無上菩提，亦令眾生得於此法，自解作佛也。

Raining flowers and shaking the earth are together external events. The Buddha personally emits light from his own body; because the torch of wisdom is about to blaze, the bodily light shines forth first, and hence it is called an internal event. "The profound and subtle secret Dharma realized within": explained in accordance with the "Skillful Means Chapter," this is unsurpassable bodhi. Now he expounds the unsurpassable bodhi realized by the Buddha, and also causes sentient beings to attain this Dharma and understand for themselves that they will become Buddhas.
