2.107

前既受持讀誦，今則如說修行。又前是聞慧，今是思慧。又前是信受，今是修行。問：前云何是信？答：龍樹云：「信力故受，念力故持。」故知前是信也。

Having previously received, upheld, read, and recited, now he practices as taught. Furthermore, the previous one was the wisdom of hearing, while this one is the wisdom of contemplation. Furthermore, the previous one was faithful acceptance, while this one is cultivation and practice. Question: How was the previous one faith? Answer: Nāgārjuna says, "Due to the power of faith one accepts, and due to the power of mindfulness one upholds." Thus we know that the previous one was faith.
