「如來成就四種功德」下，第二明如來法師功德。就文為二：一略明四種功德、二廣明四種功德，亦即初是標章、後解釋。就初又二：一者論主總明四種功德、第二引經別明四種功德，即釋上自在說因，以具四種功德能為說法故。

From "Because the Tathāgata has accomplished four kinds of merits" downward is the second [part], explaining the Tathāgata's merits as a Dharma master. There are two parts to the text: first, briefly explaining the four kinds of merits; second, extensively explaining the four kinds of merits; which is also to say that first is presenting the sections, and later is the explanation. Within the first there are again two: first, the author of the Treatise explains in general the four kinds of merits; second, citing the sūtra to specifically explain the four kinds of merits, which explains the above "cause of sovereign preaching", because by possessing the four kinds of merits he is able to preach the Dharma.
