著聲聞乘者，樂持小乘戒，求須陀洹、斯陀含、阿那含、阿羅漢等故。著大乘者，謂著利養供養恭敬等故、著分別觀種種法相乃至佛地故。

[Treatise:] "Attached to the śrāvaka vehicle" means delighting in keeping the Hinayāna precepts, seeking [to become] a srotāpanna, sakṛdāgāmin, anāgāmin, arhat, and so forth. "Attached to the Mahāyāna" means being attached to gain, offerings, respect, and so forth, or being attached to discriminatively contemplating the various characteristics of dharmas up to the Buddha stage.
