3.188

示現如來無怨惡者，調達迹中造三逆罪，名為怨惡。今示佛無有怨惡，故與授記。

Manifesting that the Tathāgata has no resentment or hatred: Devadatta, in his trace, committed three inexpiable offenses, which are termed resentful and hateful. Now, to show that the Buddha has no resentment or hatred, vyākaraṇa was conferred upon him.
