《法華》文中不見天女得記，但有龍女，或可即詺龍女以為天女。授女人記意者，示預是修菩薩行者皆得得佛故也。
In the text of the Lotus [Sūtra], one does not see devīs obtaining vyākaraṇa, but only the nāga maiden; or perhaps the nāga maiden is called a devī. The intention in conferring vyākaraṇa upon women is to show that whoever practices the bodhisattva path will all attain buddhahood.
