As for "the Tathāgata says that not departing from my person is the peerless meaning," the Buddha is the most supreme among all persons; therefore, peerlessness is determined to reside only in the Buddha. As for saying "not departing from my person," it means that not departing from the dharmakāya is the most supreme. Question: For what reason does this statement suddenly appear? Answer: It arises because of the preceding meanings of sameness and non-sameness. Now it is explained that the three vehicles equally possess the dharmakāya, whereas formerly it was explained that the three vehicles did not share the dharmakāya; because of these words, it is made clear that equally possessing the dharmakāya is precisely peerless. If in the previous section it had not been explained that they equally possess the dharmakāya, it would not be peerless.
