Question: The parable of the physician is in prose, and its text comes before; 'my pure land is indestructible' is in verse, and its text comes after. Why does the author of the treatise reverse the text when explaining it? Answer: The author of the treatise takes the aforementioned saṃbodhi as the primary fruit, and the pure land as the dependent fruit; both of these elucidate the meaning of permanence, and therefore collectively belong to unsurpassed bodhi, which is why he explains them together in one place. Unsurpassed nirvāṇa elucidates the meaning of the fruit of the fruit, and is therefore explained afterward.
