In the explanation, it says "because it manifests that the various activities performed by one another are without distinction": the intended meaning of the explanation clarifies that because the emanation-body Buddhas of the ten directions are manifested, they are referred to as "that", while the body of Śākyamuni is called "this". It also can be taken as the emanation bodies of the ten directions viewing each other as "that" and "this". The Buddhas of the ten directions identically wish to propagate the path and benefit people; hence it says that the various activities performed by the Buddhas of the ten directions are without distinction. Furthermore, the emanation-body Buddhas of the ten directions identically dwell in pure lands, identically expound the One Vehicle, and identically transform bodhisattvas; this reveals that the path of all Buddhas is identical, and is therefore named "the activities performed are without distinction". Since the path of all Buddhas is identical, one should know that Śākyamuni today is also identical to all Buddhas.
