From "there is another meaning" below, the second part elaborates the four skillful means, and also explains the section headings. Explaining the section headings should have formed four distinct divisions, but the treatise master broadly divides them into two, explaining the first three skillful means as one category, and explaining the fourth as another category. The first three skillful means have two [levels]: first, the explanation according to the sūtra; second, the explanation according to the treatise. The explanation according to the sūtra has three parts. Within each section there are three parts: first, introducing [the heading]; second, citing proof; and third, explaining the sūtra.
