1.53

此二句結成上觀察十七種莊嚴國土成就，所以願生。釋器世間清淨訖之于上，次觀眾生世間清淨。此門中分為二別：一者觀察阿彌陀如來莊嚴功德、二者觀察彼諸菩薩莊嚴功德。觀察如來莊嚴功德中有八種，至文當目。

These two lines conclude the above contemplation of the accomplishment of the seventeen adornments of the land, explaining why one aspires to be born there. The explanation of the purity of the container world is finished above; next is the contemplation of the purity of the world of sentient beings. Within this gate there are two divisions: first, contemplating the adornment of the merits of Amitābha Tathāgata; second, contemplating the adornment of the merits of those bodhisattvas. In contemplating the adornment of the Tathāgata's merits there are eight kinds, which will be enumerated as we come to the text.
